- Description : The icon of the Annunciation is one that presents the joy of the announcement of the coming of Christ. The Archangel is shown with his feet spread apart as if he is running to share the good news with Mary. He is depicted full length on the right side of the panel. He holds a Madonna- lily with his right hand while he stretches out his left hand in conversation gesture. Virgin is on a standing position full length wearing a dark red maphorion with golden boarders. Her head is surrounded by a gold halo while her whole face is depicted expressing deep esoteric and religious acceptance. She is lifting her left hand in a gentle gesture while her palm is raised open. A ray of golden light emerges from above. Her right hand touches an open book that is placed on a golden hand curved wooden stand. The whole scene takes place in front of two buildings. The influence of western components incorporated in the icon can be identified.
