Description : Saint Nicholas of Myra, is depicted half length and front facing against a gold background. He is blessing with his right hand while holding a closed gospel book adorned with precious gems with his left. He is clad in a grayish color omophorion decorated with red colored crosses outlined in black. An impressive red himation highlighted with linear lining that forms the sigh of cross, is worn elegantly. He head is surrounded by a halo, delineated with a double dotted contour. The halo is adorned with elegant geometric motifs, foliate floral decoration and rosettes painted in black and red. Flanking the saint, Christ is depicted on the left side offering him a gospel book and Virgin Mary on the right side offering him a pallium. The iconographic and stylistic characteristics of the icon, one can attribute it to the 16nth century.
