  • Description : Christ is depicted half-length, frontally facing and against a gold background. He is clad with crimson color inner robe-chiton and his left shoulder is wrapped with a green himation tied around his waist. The linearity of the represented garments is accomplished by the austere painting of the folds.
He holds a closed evangel decorated subtly with his left hand while his right is raised in a blessing gesture. His head is surrounded by a punched halo bringing the inscribed words: Ο ΩΝ (The One Who Is).
His rounded facial characteristics exude humble grace, express philanthropy and forbearance.
From an iconographical and stylistic approach, the icon can lead to be dated around the 16nth century.
