  • Description : The figures are arranged symmetrically in the centre of the icon in which Christ is depicted as the King of Kings and as the Great Hierarch.
He is depicted full length sitting on a wooden throne. He is blessing with his right hand, and in his left he holds an open scripted evangel (gospel).
He is surrounded by the Three Hierarchs of the church together with saint Ippolitos.
On the lower part of the icon the stylized inscription is assumed to be devoted from the Metropolitan bishop of Chios island Ippolitos Castritios (late 16nth century).
Refugee people of that age carried the icon from the Crete Island to Zakynthos Island. It is also highly speculated it belonged to the Three Hierarchs church.
