Collection Name : Holy Metropolis of Mesogaia and Laureotiki
Place : Paiania
Description : The church is one of the oldest chapels in the area of Paiania and stylistically one of the most characteristic post- Byzantine types. The chapel and all of its purlieus are painted all white. References report the existence of catacombs and roman baths being in the church location. The use of the church as a Catholic cemetery and the tradition that even the Turks honored the Saint during the Ottoman rule, made the church worth seeing.
