  • Description : The left part of the icon occupies the representation of the Resurrection of the Lord. The Lord appears to carry the banner of victory over death, while lying down the dazzled the Roman soldiers are depicted.
    On the right border represented the sacrifice of Abraham. The Patriarch Abraham appears ready to fulfil the request of God to sacrifice Isaac. Indeed, he is shown holding his only begotten son of the neck, while raising the hand of the sword.
    On the left an angel is illustrated, aborting the impending sacrifice and present (bottom left) to Abraham to slaughter a lamb.
    In the central part of the panel, Saint Tryphon is depicted bearing chapel, Saint Savvas bearing scroll, St Catherine holding sceptre and St. Nicholas blessing with his right hand while holding a closed Gospel to the left.
    The votive silver coverings on certain parts of the icon, reminds us the purpose of the presence of relative religious folk custom.
