  • Description : The Mitre of purple velvet, which have been stitched with gold threads and ornamented with characteristic motifs.
    The base of the mitre is embroidered in uniform flowering and leaf decoration. The cross strips are joined above the rim composing uniform floral decoration. In the band of the mitre head-on dominates the Byzantine double-headed eagle symbol.
    In between the panels of the bands have similar poles, of which the central medallion bears the depiction of the four evangelists in a bust length with allegorical symbols.
    Two rows of three stars surrounding each pole. The top of the mitre have been embroidered with coil leafy and flowering motifs. In the centre of the mitre an isosceles cross stands in the base and is adorned with semiprecious stones.
    COMMENTS the sacred mitre belonged to the Bishop of Argolis, Petroulia Daniel, a monk of the Monastery of St. George Feneou.
