Description: The church is located near the Fountain of Life Square in the town of Painia.
The church has two facades, which the second one is dedicated to the Archangels Gabriel and Michael.
During the Turkish occupation the church served as a meeting place for the locals and tradition notes that the voice of the Saint encourages the enslaved to endure the Turkish raids.
The area that the church was built in the past was known as Palaia Alonia.
